Kinder and 1st grade students must have an adult or older sibling present to receive their child. We will then give a White Austin Walker/Biker Tag to use the following days. You could also get a White Austin Walker/Biker Tag from your child's teacher.

For Kinder and 1st grade, please email your child's teacher if you give permission for your child to be released by an older sibling. We must have this parent permission documentation on file.

We will not release students to parents parked in the parking lot. You must meet your child at the flag pole.

New Faces at Pink Elementary

Sep 23, 2013 | User Not Found

We are excited to have some new staff members with us at Pink Elementary. We look forward to working with them this school year to help ensure that all of our students are successful. Let's help them feel warm and welcome as they join our Pink Palomino family.

Elizabeth Ortiz (1st Grade - Bilingual) -- Ms. Ortiz has 10 years of teaching experience. For the past five years she has worked as a bilingual teacher of a First & Second grade split classroom in HISD. She has had great success in helping students develop their literacy skills both in English and Spanish. Last year she implemented a self-monitoring system for students to track their own learning progress in math and reading. She has also implemented parental involvement programs to support parents in incorporating practical strategies at home to help their children learn. She looks forward to sharing her passion and knowledge with her new Pink family!

Patricia Munoz (1st Grade - Bilingual)

Nelda Hernandez (2nd Grade) -- This will be Ms.Hernandez' first full year of teaching. She worked as a long term sub here at Pink last year and did a phenomenal job. She has a passion for working with children: she is creative, resourceful, and determined to help students be successful.

Brenda Saenz (2nd Grade - Bilingual)

Jesus Hernandez (4th Grade - Bilingual)

Angela Benitez (5th Grade - Bilingual) -- Angela has been teaching for 16 years. For the past six years, she has been the Language Arts Specialist for Rees Elementary in Alief ISD. She has a vast array of knowledge and experience in supporting student's growth in literacy and developing a second language. She is passionate about working with children and helping them grow academically. She looks forward to making a positive contribution to our work here at Pink!

Jeremy Glenn (5th Grade)  -- Mr. Glenn has 5 years of teaching experience. He has spent the past five years teaching math at Hearne Elementary in Alief ISD. He has the ability to build solid relationships with kids and deliver creative and engaging lessons. He is not satisfied until every student has learned the concept, and he will not stop until he finds a strategy that works. He has found small group math instruction to be most effective in targeting student's individual needs. According to his Principal, you can never get Mr. Glenn to leave the building ....he is always working to ensure that his students are successful. Mr. Glenn is eager to get acclimated to Pink and share his passion to help student's excel academically.

Bobbie Mathes (LifeSkills)

Bonnie Simien (Music) -- Ms. Simien has eight years of experience as a music teacher.  She has taught music to K-6th grade students at Glover Elementary in Fort Bend ISD for the past five years.  During that time, she has been very effective in providing creative and engaging learning experiences for students both in the classroom and throughout the community. She was instrumental in organizing and directing a 50+ member choir at Glover. The choir performed on and off campus throughout her five years at Glover. Ms. Simien also currently provides private piano and music theory lessons to students ranging from 5 to 15 years old on a weekly basis. Finally, her peers and supervisors at Glover commented that she is able to present creative ideas that both students and parents enjoy. She tackles all assignments professionally and with a smile. Bonnie is excited about joining the Pink family and would like to provide musical opportunities beyond the school day and outside of the classroom. She wants students to be able to apply their learning in many different venues.
