Lamar CISD’s Common Threads program is accepting donations for Lamar CISD students and families affected by the recent flooding. Clothing donations, belts, new undergarments, toiletries (shampoo, lotion, toothbrushes, bars of soap, toothpaste, etc.) and shoes are needed. Common Threads is also in need of diapers of all sizes.
Donations may be dropped off at any of the following locations:

There is now only one American Red Cross shelter operating in the Lamar CISD area:
Richmond/Rosenberg Red Cross Shelter: First Baptist Church Richmond, 502 South Fifth Street, Richmond, 281-342-8664;
Those with flood-related needs are urged to call the American Red Cross at 1-866-526-8300.
The Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management urges all groups organizing to help victims to register at
crisiscleanup.org. Registering makes it easier coordinate clean up efforts when the time comes. Crisis Cleanup will match volunteers with homeowners.
Survivors needing assistance with home cleanup may call 1-800-451-1954, which will connect them with a volunteer which will connect homeowners with reputable and vetted relief agencies that will assist in mud-outs, debris removal and cleaning homes. Service are free, but due to demand, may take time.
The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center and VisionLink are staffing the hotline through July 1.

The Chik-fil-A restaurants in Rosenberg Town Center, near Greatwood and at the intersection of the Grand Parkway and Bellaire are only taking donations of baby items and toiletries.
Rosenberg-Richmond Helping Hands will be open Monday thru Thursday 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 25, for food and clothing.

A temporary distribution site for food and clothing will be open at Terry High School for the next 30 days.
Catholic Charities’ Mamie George Community Center, 1111 Collins Road, will be open Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help with food and financial assistance for flood victims. Call 281-202-6200.
Boxes and packing tape to help those who need to pack things when they get back in their homes.
Friends of North Rosenberg – needs one or two volunteers to answer phones, welcome walk-ins and assist with filling out applications on the computer for things like FEMA. The hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Contact Barry Henry (832)471-6090 or (713)632-4626.
Cleanup and Mud-Out training for individuals and church groups is available. You will learn safety, assessing needs and follow-up. Organizations can register here.
