Registration

Registering your future Astronaut is as simple as 1-2-3-4!
1. Visit LCISD.org > Students and Parents > Registration and scroll down to Students New to LCISD
2. Follow directions to locate your campus and complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application
3. Gather the required documents: Proof of Residency (closing documents, leasing agreement, fixed utility bill - electric, gas, water), copy of parent/guardian driver's license, student birth certificate, student immunization records
4.Call 832-223-1000 or email [email protected] to make an appointment to drop off documents


Attendance

Attendance notes may be sent by email but must come from a parent's verified email account. The email must be sent to the campus attendance clerk when your student returns to school. Please include your student's first name, last name, teacher name, grade and the date(s) which your student was absent. Please send your email to: [email protected]

Breakfast and lunch are FREE to all students at Austin, but students may purchase a la carte items. Your child's student ID number will also be their lunch number. You can also use this number to add money to their account online. Students will use their SMART Tag in the lunch line.

SMART Tags

Lamar CISD implemented the SMART Tag system, which is designed to improve the safety and security of students who utilize school bus transportation. For more information, please click here.

If your student lost or breaks their SMART Tag, parents will need to purchase a new SMART Tag for $5.00.  Click here to purchase a new SMART Tag.

Please do not bend or punch a hole into the SMART Tag. 

  

Transportation Changes

Transportation changes must be submitted to the front office before 2:10 p.m. Transportation changes must be submitted by phone call or by a written note. 

On early release days, transportation changes must be submitted to the front office before 11 a.m. 

Permanent transportation changes must be made in writing.

For on-site after school care, please call the YMCA at 281-341-0791. Their program is for students K-5 and offered Monday - Friday (on regular school days) until 6:30 p.m.

Car Riders   

Please get a White Austin Visor Tag from your student's teacher. 

Place the White Austin Visor Tag in your front window.

If someone else picks up your child, please make sure they have the White Austin Visor Tag.

Please follow the car rider line route on the side of the building. 

All car riders must be picked up in the car ride line. 

Walkers/Bikers

Please meet your student(s) at the flag pole in the front of the bike rack.

Walker/Bikers will be released first. Please be at the flag pole at 2:40 p.m.

Kinder and 1st grade students must have an adult or older sibling present to receive their child. Individuals receiving Kinder or 1st grade students at the flag pole will need to be in possession of a picture ID, so the staff member can verify release authorization on the first day of school. We will then give a White Austin Walker/Biker Tag to use the following days. You could also get a White Austin Walker/Biker Tag from your child's teacher.

For Kinder and 1st grade, please email your child's teacher if you give permission for your child to be released by an older sibling. We must have this parent permission documentation on file. 

We will not release students to parents parked in the parking lot. You must meet your child at the flag pole.

What are the dates and venue for graduation?

  • Friday, June 26, 8 p.m. – George Ranch High School at Legacy Stadium
    Rainout: Saturday, June 27, 9:30 a.m.

  • Saturday, June 27, 8 p.m. – Fulshear High School at Legacy Stadium
    Rainout: Sunday, June 28, 9:30 a.m.

How many guest tickets will each graduate receive?

Per the TEA Guidance for Graduation released on May 6, outdoor ceremonies are required to provide 6 feet or more of spacing between all participants. Legacy Stadium can only accommodate sitting groups of 4 or 8 to meet established guidelines and adhere to a maximum seating capacity of 3,600.

To ensure compliance with TEA guidance, graduates at Foster, Terry and George Ranch high schools will receive 4 guest tickets each due to the number of graduates at those campuses. Since Lamar Consolidated and Fulshear high schools have smaller graduating classes, they will receive 8 guest tickets. The guests of each graduate are required to sit together as a group of 4 at designated seating in Legacy Stadium, ensuring 6 feet of separation between each group of guests. Guests will be able to easily identify groupings of 4 seats by marked stadium seats and signage.

Additionally, all Lamar CISD graduation ceremonies will be streamed live on the District’s website and YouTube channel.

Guests 3 years of age or older will need a ticket to attend the graduation ceremony.

How many parking tags will each graduate receive?

Each graduate will receive 2 parking tags.

Is there a cost for parking?

There is no charge for parking at Legacy Stadium.

When will graduates receive their ceremony information?

Graduates may pick up their graduation and parking tickets at their respective campuses.

What time may I enter Legacy Stadium?

The Legacy Stadium gates will open at 6:45 p.m. for graduate and guest arrival.

What entrance will Graduate use at Legacy Stadium?

Graduates may enter Legacy Stadium from two sides (A or B side). Signage will be available at the entrance of Legacy Stadium to direct Graduates to the appropriate location.

Where will students be seated on the field?

The field at Legacy Stadium will be split into 2 sections (section A and B). Chairs will be arranged at each section marked with the names of the graduates. Graduates will be seated in the chair corresponding to their name.

What are the Graduate Guidelines?

  • Caps and gowns should be carried until graduate has checked in at designated entrance.

  • Decorations are not allowed on caps and tassels worn on the right side of the cap.

  • Due to the turf at Legacy Stadium, it is asked that heels are not worn for safety reasons.

  • Graduates are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, preferably with pockets to secure car keys and cell phone.

  • Cell phones must be turned off and not visible during the ceremony. No additional items will be permitted on the field.

    What are the Guest Guidelines?

    Guests of graduates are expected to sit together at clearly marked seats of (4).

What is the CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) medical screening?

  • Graduates and guests are expected to adhere to signage regarding medical self-screening of COVID-19 symptoms before entering the graduation ceremony and when in line at the concession or restroom maintain 6 feet of social distancing.

  • Graduates and guests that have experienced any of the following symptoms within the last 48 hours may NOT enter the graduation ceremony: fever greater than or equal to 100.0; Shortness of breath, cough, chills, diarrhea, headache, sore throat; New loss of taste or smell.

  • Graduates and guest that have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Coronavirus, or who has COVID-19 within the past 14 days may NOT enter the graduation ceremony.

  • The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings. We are encouraging all guests attending the graduation ceremony to wear a face mask. 

Is food allowed in the stadium?

No outside food or drink is allowed into Legacy Stadium. Graduates will have water made available to them at their stadium check-in location. Bottled water and drinks will be sold onsite.

Are stadium seats allowed in Legacy Stadium?

Yes, guests are welcome to bring stadium seats. 

The following items are prohibited within Legacy Stadium.

  • Air horns/Noisemakers

  • Balloons

  • Banners

  • Flowers

  • Food/Drink

  • Gifts

  • Laser Pointers

  • Signs larger than 2'x2'

  • Weapons (concealed and open carry prohibited)

What is the inclement weather plan?

Every effort will be made to hold each ceremony, but in the event of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony will be rescheduled to 9:30 a.m. the following day. Legacy Stadium gates will open at 7:45 a.m. for graduate and guest arrival.

What is the recommended attire for graduates participating in the ceremony?

Dress comfortably and appropriately for the temperature and humidity. Flat shoes are recommended for the graduates to walk on the turf field. Information regarding preferred ceremony attire will be provided by your child’s campus.

Do you have handicap seating?

Yes, handicap seating is available on the concourse level.

Do you provide wheelchairs?

Yes, wheelchair escorts are available. However, due to a limited number of wheelchairs, the wheelchairs may not remain with the guest during the ceremony.

Do you have elevators?

Yes, elevators are located on both sides of the stadium.

May I bring a camera or recording device into the ceremony?

Yes, cameras and recording devices are allowed. However, tripods and other professional equipment is prohibited. Camera and equipment including cords are not allowed in aisles or walkways.

What is the procedure for exiting the stadium?

At the end of the graduation ceremony, guests will remain seated until their section is dismissed and then immediately exit the stadium.

Can we gather outside the stadium following the graduation ceremony?

Congregation of groups after the ceremony is not allowed. Graduates and their families will continue their celebration, including taking photographs, at home.

What sanitizing practices will be in place?

Hand sanitizing stations will be available at entrances and throughout Legacy Stadium. The stadium will be disinfected between ceremonies.

How long is the graduation ceremony?

The ceremony is approximately (2) hours long.

How will diplomas be distributed?

Principals will not be handing out diploma covers to students or shaking the graduate’s hand. Diploma covers will be placed on a table on the stage. When the graduate’s name is called, each student will pick up his or her diploma cover from the table. All diploma covers will be stacked on the table by staff members wearing masks and gloves.

Students' high school diploma will be mailed.
