The Houston Touchdown Club named George Ranch High School's Anna Joy Jackson the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for Tennis.
She was honored May 28 at the Club's annual Spring Sports Scholar Athlete Dinner. Jackson's award came with a $500 scholarship, which she will use at Texas A&M University.
Foster High volleyball player Kelsey Whileyman was a finalist in her category.
Lamar CISD Superintendent, George Ranch High principal Leslie Haack, Athletics Coordinator Ricky Tullos and tennis coach Rachel Guidry were on hand to share the honor with Jackson.
