Every school district in Texas has something to be proud of. But only a few are given official “bragging rights.”

Lamar CISD is one of only 12 Texas school districts to be featured in the Eighth Annual “Bragging Rights” edition of Texas School Business Magazine.

Every December, the Bragging Rights edition recognizes school districts for innovative programs that are improving the lives of students, schools and communities.

“We had close to 100 nominations this year, and all deserve bragging rights,” said Katie Ford, Editorial Director of Texas School Business. “We hope the 12 stories we singled out and chose to share will inspire other districts. Our mission at Texas School Business is to report on the good things happening in our public schools, and I can tell you with certainty that I’m never short on stories.”

Lamar CISD is being featured for its iCafe program, which produces and distributes “how-to” videos to members of the District staff. To date, more than 30 organizations—including school districts, service centers and universities—have visited Lamar CISD to see what the iCafe and iCafe studio are all about.
