McAuley Tsai Deneefe Dennis Dougherty Jara Jennings Lin Noh Shaddock Nelson Eleven Lamar CISD high school students were named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Earning Commended status were: • Foster High School’s Piper McAuley and Jefferson Tsai; • George Ranch High School’s Sarah Deneefe, Jonathan Dennis, Julia Dougherty, Alessandra Jara, Caroline Jennings, Chen Lin, Hyungnam Noh and Gabrielle Shaddock; and • Lamar Consolidated High School’s Victoria Nelson.
