Foster High School's first Congressional Award recipient, Joseph Cook.
Recently, Foster High School senior Joseph Cook was selected as a recipient of The Congressional Award.
The Congressional Award requires students to complete 400 hours of voluntary service, 200 hours of physical fitness and 200 hours of personal development. Recipients are also required to plan and attend a five day/four night learning trip. Participants earn Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Award Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas: Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness and Expedition/Exploration.
Cook is the first student from Foster High School to receive this honor and was recently awarded with both Bronze and Silver certificates and medals. He will be presented with a Gold medal in Washington D.C. this summer. To read more on The Congressional Award, click here.
