Houston Rodeo Art judging was completed on Friday, Jan. 17 at the NRG Center. The results are as follows:
Elementary Best of Show – Cole Yockey, Velasquez Elementary – first time a 3D sculpture has won in Lamar CISD!
Elementary Gold Medal – William Fleurinor, Travis Elementary
Junior High Best of Show – Kendall Hurlburt, Leaman Jr. High
Junior High Gold Medal – Rachel Seo, Leaman Jr. High
High School Special Merit:

· Emily Medrano, Foster High School
· Katherine Le, George Ranch High School
· Virginia Liu, Lamar Consolidated High School
High School Gold Medal:
· Savannah Johnston and Mia Huckman, Foster High School
High School 3D Best of Show and 3D Reserve Champion – Savannah Johnston, Foster High School
High School 2D Best of Show – Jessica Morcilla, George Ranch High School
These pieces will now advance in hopes of reaching the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Auction. Results will be released in late February. All pieces will be available to view at the Hayloft Gallery at the Houston Rodeo.
