Nancy Garcia, Assistant Principal
From the time I started elementary school, I knew I wanted to be an educator. My passion for education, love for children, and wanting to inspire others to be the best they can be lead me to where I am today. I am dedicated to improving student learning, supporting teachers, and connecting with the community.
I am a native Texan, born in Houston and raised in Missouri City, Texas. I am a graduate of the University of Houston, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I received my Master of Education Degree in Administration & Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria. I have been a proud educator for nineteen years. Fifteen of those wonderful years have been in Lamar CISD. In our district, I have taught at Huggins ES and Jackson ES. I was a Literacy Coach for four years at Travis ES.
When I am away from school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, relaxing at the beach, fishing, gardening, decorating, repurposing and repainting furniture, and volunteering at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I am married to Al Bodin and a mom of two, Corey (24) and Dalton (19). They both attended Lamar CISD schools and received an excellent education.
I am super excited to join the Jaguar family and thrilled to begin my new adventure as an Assistant Principal! I look forward to meeting and building relationships with our students, families, and community members.
