This school year, 2022 - 2023, starts a new chapter for LCHS Alum, Sierra King. On June 23 Mrs. King was announced as the new principal of LCHS.
This has been a dream of hers since she was a student at LCHS, After graduating from LCHS in 2007, Mrs. king attended Sam Houston State University where she received her Bachler's degree and her Master's degree in 3 years, graduating in 2010. She started on the educational career path with her first job as a teacher at LCHS in 2010. In 2015 she moved into the role as an AP at Lamar Junior High, just next door. In 2017 Mrs. King accepted the job as an AP back at LCHS. She held this position for four years before another opportunity presented itself. In 2021 Mrs. King accepted the role as Associate Principal, second in charge, of her alma mater. All her goals were coming true with only one step left, Principal of LCHS.
To her surprise, the opportunity came sooner than expected. Mrs. Sierra King had reached her goal of Principal at Lamar Consolidated High School beginning the 2022 - 2023 school year.
It is said that Once a Mustang, ALWAYS a Mustang and Mrs. Sierra King is proof of this statement. She is the spirit of LAMAR and really does BLEED BLUE.
