This year, as an increase to our safety measures, every student is required to wear an identification badge at all times. Each campus will soon have the capability to print badges to meet the District's new ID requirement for all students. Soon we will distribute Smart Tag Printers to each campus. Each badge will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card.
The District will also provide all students and staff with an emergency safety card to be worn with their ID Badge. This new requirement is just one of several new safety additions the District is incorporating this year. The safety card contains Lamar CISD's Standard Response Protocol, important emergency numbers, as well as a QR code that links directly to the District's anonymous tip line. Badges will be distributed with student SMART Tags.
The SMART tag system helps increase safety and security for students riding on a school bus, leveraging technology to improve student management and communications on school buses. SMART tag monitors student loading and unloading, providing real-time information to the Transportation Department, and you, the guardian. Be sure to stay in the know on all of the latest information related to your student's SMART Tag by clicking HERE.
