COVID19-Tech-Support

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Lamar CISD and the Technology Services team is committed to supporting our students, parents and staff. Below are common technology support items that may be helpful for many in our community.

 

INTERNET AT HOME

These low-cost broadband internet offers may be available to families within Lamar CISD.

Lamar CISD is providing this information as a community resource and does not endorse any corporate provider or product. Please visit the provider's site or call to review the latest plans and terms and conditions as their programs may change from the information provided below. Some programs require that you register for a state or federal program.

Comcast  

  • Offering new, low-income Internet Essentials customers two months of free internet and raising the speed of that program’s service to 25/3 Mbps.

  • Xfinity WiFi hotspots located in businesses and outdoor locations across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free — including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi.

  • Pausing their data plan for 60 days and giving all customers Unlimited data for no additional charge.

  • No disconnects or late fees and offering flexible payment options.

AT&T

  • $5/mo for speeds 768Kbps – 3Mbps

  • $10/mo for speeds 5Mbps – 10Mbps.

  • Expanding eligibility based on income and to households participating in National School Lunch Program/Head Start.

  • Waiving all home internet data overage fees.

Altice Advantage Program

  • Altice USA is helping schools and students stay connected during this unprecedented time. Altice Advantage internet is available for $14.99/month.

  • Available to customers served by Optimum or Suddenlink.

Windstream  

  • (855) 944-2961 or https://www.windstream.com/about/windstream-information/lifeline-assistance-program

  • Windstream Lifeline Assistance Program is a federal program that helps qualified individuals lower their monthly cost of phone or internet service. You can apply your monthly Lifeline discount to either your phone or internet service, but you can only receive a discount on one option: phone or internet.

  • This service is non-transferable, only eligible consumers may enroll in the program, and the program is limited to one discount per household.

  • Eligible customers will receive a credit per month on their Windstream bill. Residents of federally recognized tribal lands may receive an additional reduction. Additional state support may be available.

CANNOT LOGIN TO LCISD COMPUTER

In order to login to a LCISD laptop from home, you must first login to that computer while on the district’s wireless network. See the PDF document below to see the error message and find a possible solution if you are experiencing this issue.

MY STUDENT DOES NOT KNOW THEIR LCISD USERNAME/PASSWORD

It is vital that all students know their district assigned username and password in order to access programs like Classlink and Canvas. All guardians can find their student’s username and password through the Skyward Family Access Center. Click on the PDF below for step by step instructions for accessing that information.

I NEED CANVAS SUPPORT
